I was part of the team that designed and refined Fund-it over the course of about a month, then customized it to reflect our client’s culture and quirks. The client loved it—while Fund-it is relatively simple to play, the conversations it provokes are not.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The new intranet's Home page (and browser start screen for all associates) features banner ads intended to communicate global messages, generally from HR or Marketing, a snapshot of recent news, and highlights of current, high-profile projects or other initiatives within the organization. It also defaults to display the individual user's selected Quick Links so they can access their everyday tools in a single click. While not part of the initial release, the intent is that over time, the content on this page becomes user-specific, with different ads and articles featured depending on the business, department, and teams the associate accessing it is part of.</image:caption>

<image:caption>As I refined the design for the app, I established this site map, which includes the MVP functionality in the context of longer-term, “blue sky” functionality. <image:title>Work - Design - Take I</image:title>
<image:caption>These wireframes reflect my thoughts following initial assessment and prior to visiting stores. They include much more content than was ultimately included in the app, and required too many clicks to get to videos and recommendations.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - In-Store Pain Points</image:title>
<image:caption>Brain coaches’ pain points with respect to sharing products with customers largely come down to the inability to demonstrate some products (for the most part, maker, designer, and tech products), and the lack of on-demand video content in stores to help customers understand these products.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Brain Coach Journey</image:title>
<image:caption>The segment of the journey the app supports is sharing products with customers. <image:caption>While I was to design and build an app for use in the stores, I needed to understand the challenges Marbles was facing and learn about parallel initiatives, both real-world and digital, to ensure that my work was aligned and would work well in context.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Personas</image:title>
<image:caption>For the purpose of the app, the personas I focused on were internal to Marbles, as customers would not initially be invited to use it independently. To create these personas and document journeys and pain points, I spent time at the stores observing and talking with Brain Coaches and Store Managers, and brainstormed with the Midwest Regional Sales Manager.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Journey + Interactions</image:title>
<image:caption>United's various properties supported the different needs of resellers across their selling journey. The lifecycle of an Office Products reseller was more complex than that of other resellers, and therefore involved the most properties and touchpoints.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Reseller-Facing Properties</image:title>
<image:caption>United’s online reseller experience was quite disjointed. Most resellers would only interact with a subset of their sites, but regardless, the number of applications an individual might have to visit, the number of branding treatments in use, and the fact that most opened in new browser windows when accessed, led to confusion and missed opportunities.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Evolution from the current state to the proposed state was best understood by site type, as for each site type, existing properties would be consolidated (if the site type was to persist; in some cases, all sites would be retired). <image:title>Work - Proposed Page Designs</image:title>
<image:caption>We worked through several iterations of designs for the dashboard itself, a new search results page, and various page templates to support content and interconnect it. <image:title>Work - Site Structure + Content</image:title>
<image:caption>The future Essendant Experience would, to a great extent, be repurposing content and functionality already available via one of Essendant's many digital properties. We categorized that content and functionality and then determined how to best organize it as part of a single experience. We then went on to identify page unique components to be included on pages of various types, and organized them into a series of templates.</image:caption>

<image:title>Work - Personalization</image:title>
<image:caption>As we worked toward a common, customizable dashboard to welcome users to the new Essendant experience, we worked with reseller users in the field to determine which kinds of functionality people with different roles within their companies might most like to see. We wanted to ensure that we included the right kinds of content for all users on the dashboard, and would later define a few default layouts to get users started in interacting with the new design.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The MVP for the presentation builder is simply a presentation delivery tool that offers pre-defined presentations that are composed of pre-defined segments, and which can be easily "played" on the sales person's device.</image:caption>

<image:title>Presentation Builder - Wholesale & B2B Sales - Evolution of All Assets</image:title>
<image:caption>The All Assets page is, fundamentally, a page that lists all of the assets available for use in building presentations, plus a means to filter them. The challenge to designing this page was determining how best to support users in building presentations directly from this page.</image:caption>

<image:title>Presentation Builder - Wholesale & B2B Sales - Evolution of Presentations</image:title>
<image:caption>While likely to to be accessed less from this page, the presentation-building and emailing tools available from the All Assets page needed to be available to users from this page as well, and how they could be best incorporated here (as well as on the Asset Details page) needed to be considered as I was designing them for the All Assets page.</image:caption>
